The Funeral

Just a couple of pictures from the funeral. It was a beautiful day, a nice service, and nice to visit with family.

Zack's 11th Birthday

Zack celebrated his 11th birthday on February 18th. It was different than usual because we had family in town for Great Grandpa's funeral. It was fun to have cake with all of the cousins. Zack enjoyed some new clothes, books, gift cards, a little cash, and a Ripstick for his gifts. We are happy to have Zack as our oldest child! Happy Birthday Zack!

It's still winter here...

Farewell to Grandpa Morrison

Last Saturday John's Grandpa Morrison passed away while he was sleeping. He had been sick for about 2 1/2 weeks. We are happy that he did not have to suffer for long and that he got to live out his life in his own home. We will miss him but we appreciate the role that he has played in our lives and we will always have fond memories! On a happier note, my in-laws will get to come home from their mission for 1 day in order to attend the funeral. It will be a nice, quick family gathering.

Weather Update

I find it hard to stay upbeat at this time of year. I should not let the weather affect me but for some reason it does. I can be a good sport during December (because of Christmas) and even during January. But come February, Cache Valley usually dips into a dreaded "inversion" which means foggy and polluted air, and worst of all, very cold temperatures. Even then I could probably still handle it because it is still winter. That is, until I watch the news and find that every other location in Utah is a balmy 56 degrees while Logan remains at 24. This makes me so angry to know that people 50 miles away are enjoying that kind of weather! It's a good thing that this is one of the best places to live otherwise.... and we do have nice summers--now if only it would come!
