Kade's 2nd Birthday

Kade turned 2 this week. I can't believe that the baby is not a baby anymore. Crazy! We are kind of celebrating his birthday over a few days this year, hopefully by tomorrow there will be pictures of the birthday cake. We love our little boy!

Cousins in California

McKena and Landrie had a great time over the weekend. They played and played, especially on this new, very large waterslide in the backyard. Although the temperatures were somewhat below average, kids can ignore that for awhile and have fun. I am a warm weather person myself, but I did take one turn on the "Vortex". McKena sure enjoyed being in a houseful of girls rather than boys. Meanwhile, the rest of us enjoyed delicious food and don't forget about the great shopping in California!

The Big Day (for a 5 year old)!

The day has finally arrived after much studying, hardwork, dedication, and a little bit of a social life. McKena was able to walk in the Better Beginnings Preschool graduation. The evening began with some songs, a nice slideshow of activities throughout the year, the walk, and then refreshments. It was cute. I think she got to have a lot of good experiences through this preschool. Her preschool teacher must be a little more willing to pick up messes than her mother. Now she's nervous about kindergarten but I assured her that we get to go meet her teacher and find her classroom beforehand. Another chapter comes to a close.....

Great Grandparents

We went to visit both of John's grandparents on Mothers' Day this year. We had a nice time visiting with Grandma Hall and Grandpa Morrison. We came away knowing that we needed to do this more often!

Comfortable McKena?

I found McKena like this a few nights ago--I guess it was comfortable. Several days later I found bits of broken glass on the bed platform corner (that is visible in this picture). "Safety First" at my house and that is why several days later I got the energy to get the hose on the vacuum and suck up the glass.

Front Porch

It was hot the other day and I finally had time to rinse off the porch and wipe the layers of dirt from the benches. So here's a picture of my usual front porch decor. I don't ever change things too much as some of you may notice. This may be pretty boring to some, but I know my Mom (who is currently out of the country) will find this interesting enough.

Memorial Day

I bought two little pots like this for Grandma and Grandpa's graves on Memorial Day. I think they're so cute--I hope nobody steals them (that happens, you know).
